So we survived my fear I've been putting off...taking Ellie to get professional photographs. And I must say it went amazing! She's been shy around new people lately so I thought she wouldn't smile at the photographer, but boy was I wrong. She was the life of that room. She was smiling and posing even when it wasn't her turn! We've got all of the pictures on a disc so let me know if you'd like some! The other children are two of her youngest cousins on Martins side (Julian - 10 months and Yaretzi - 6 months).

Sleepy Ellie
As we were feeding El some carrots the other night, she suddenly decided that she was exhausted and wanted to take a a little nap. Unfortunately for her, we kept laughing and waking her up. Sorry the quality isn't better, it was dark in here and taken from my phone.
Also, we celebrated her 6 month birthday yesterday! Which she decided would be a good time to show us that she can now sit up all on her own! Though she still falls over when she gets excited. I'll take some more pictures and post them soon!

Hearts For Japan
We've been lucky enough to have quite a bit of sun lately. So of course Ashley and I decided it was about time for Ellie to try on some of her dresses! After about the second one she decided it wasn't nearly as much fun for her as it was for us. But we took some quick pictures of all her outfits. As I was looking back through them, I found this picture and realized she had made a heart completely on her own out of a piece of string! We decided to dedicate this to all of the people and family members who have been affected in Japan.

First Food!
(This was the no-go rice cereal)
So even though we've heard rumors that babies shouldn't eat solid foods until they are at least six months, we decided to bend the rules a bit. How can you resist when you have an an adorable face opening her mouth every time she sees food, (clearly our love of food was inherited) or really anything that gets near her mouth for that matter. We started off with some rice cereal which she gobbled up and all was well. Yeah...right. She cried for quite a while afterwards and wouldn't settle down. We've now cut that out of her diet. They also make oatmeal cereal which we tried and that went over much better. Possibly because it doesn't expand as much as rice does in her stomach? We just bought her some Gerber banana food today and she ate the whole container in one sitting! I'm going to have to do some baby recipe research if she keeps up this appetite. Moral of the story is, our baby girl is now eating from a spoon!
Hello!
It may take me a bit to get this up and going, but I am hoping to update this at least weekly! I know many of you love getting updates about how we're doing, so this seems to be perfect for that. Let me know if there are certain things you'd like pictures/videos/updates of!
Hope all is well with everyone!
Oh and yes CMEJ stands for Cassi, Martin, Ellie, Jax.
